Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the leading cause of death in both developed and developing countries. Due to rapidly growing ageing population and urbanization in last three decades, cardiovascular disease accounts for more than 40% (over 3 millions) of all deaths each year in China. Unlike many Western countries, China has a rapidly increasing rate of heart disease due to a combination of sedentary lifestyle, smoking, diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. With an aging population and increased life expectancy in China, the numbers of CVD are expected to double every ten years in next decades. Thus, it is urgent to implement a series of treatment and prevention strategies that can help reverse these worrying trends.
To provide a platform for the presentations and discussions of frontier research and clinical practice in CVD, we are pleased to announce that the Second Wuhan International Cardiovascular Conference will be held in Wanda Westin Hotel, Wuhan, China, September 6 - 9th, 2013. The organizing committee has invited more than 40 experts including over 10 Editor-in-chief of ATVB, deputy editor of Circulation, Circulation Research, and several associate editors from Nature Medicine, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Circulation, Circulation Research and ATVB. The conference will provide great opportunities for scientists, cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and CVD educators at home and abroad to present, share your most recent laboratory findings, innovative clinical practices, and state-of-the-art technologies in CVD. The organizing committee sincerely invites you to attend the conference to learn the latest progresses in CVD and/or to share your most recent scientific findings with our experts from the world.
